Boat plan net, information, links and pictures of boats
Welcome to my site on the web here you will find pictures of all sorts of boats
the beginning of mankind there have been boats, nobody can say when the
first vessel was built because people have travelled by water for
thousands of years, long before any written record. However many people
believe the first “vessel” was not built, but more likely found.
a primitive man watching a fallen branch float down a river, imagine him
sitting on that branch and floating, imagine him paddling with his
man has discovered many things. That the log or branch stays afloat even
with him on it and that if he paddles faster on one side than the other
that he can change the direction he travels! Amazing
natural progression (probably around 10,000 BC) was to tie a number of
logs together and create a raft, or maybe (where timbers were suitable)
to hollow out a log and make a basic canoe.
happened humans have developed these basic principals for thousands of
years through many stages up-to present day, where there is an amazing
variety of vessels available to suit almost any nautical need.
this development has come a passion for all sorts of boating be it
sailing, jet-boating, water skiing, fishing, paddling, cruising, or even
living on board a houseboat. People are driven to spend there time and
money on their passion, be
that building your own boat, buying one or simple hiring a yacht for a
matter what excites you there are some basic’s you must consider when
getting into boating.
include determining what type of boat will suit your needs, where the
boat will be used, how will you get it there, how will you store it,
what is your budget, and perhaps the most important aspects, what is
your level of skill and experience. Do you know what to do if things go
wrong? Do you understand changing weather conditions.
you have the appropriate safety gear. Have
you been properly trained in the handling of your vessel.
These last few points are essential if you are to enjoy trouble free
boating, after all you can’t park it up and get out and walk! Your
life and the lives of your fellow boaties
may depend on you.
Once you have these things in place and are confident in your abilities, there is little else on this earth that can match the thrill and satisfaction of a day on the water. It is difficult to explain this passion but I am reminded of the famous words of John Masefield in the poem (Sea Fever)
MUST go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
whatever drives you we hope the information on this site helps you
realize your passion, good luck and remember play it safe and enjoy your
be nice to your Mum!
